SuperEnalotto Jackpot of €163.5 Million Won in Vibo Valentia

A moment of SuperEnalotto history was created in the latest draw on Thursday 27th October, as one player matched all six main numbers to win a massive €163.5 million and end a run of rollovers stretching back more than a year. The winning ticket was sold in Vibo Valentia in Calabria, and the lucky participant also matched the SuperStar, at extraordinary odds of 1 in 56 billion, to pocket a €2 million bonus on top of their incredible windfall.

The numbers drawn last night were 3, 12, 23, 71, 76 and 83 with Jolly 56 and SuperStar 35. The top prize had previously proved elusive since a player from Acireale won €21.8 million on 16th July 2015, and had built up to become one of the largest lottery jackpots in the world.

It is the first time the jackpot has been won since a number of changes were made to SuperEnalotto in February, making the game more exciting and helping the top prize to grow more quickly. The record for the largest SuperEnalotto prize in history, €177.7 million, had also been within striking distance.

Whereas the previous record jackpot was won by a syndicate of 70 players, almost exactly six years ago on 30th October 2010, the latest big winner spent just €3 on entering the game and played two panels. They bought their ticket at the Via Dante Alighieri White, a tobacconist in the city centre which is popular with local residents and students.

“At first, when they called me to warn me of the win, I thought it was a joke,” Domenico Lo Bianco, the owner of the store, told reporters as the media descended on Vibo Valentia. “Then, slowly, I realised, and I realised it was all true. Although some winnings are so high they are really unbelievable.”

As the city celebrated the win with dancing and fireworks, thousands of other SuperEnalotto players across Italy were also able to get their hands on prizes in the latest draw, ranging from €5 for matching two main numbers, or just the SuperStar, up to €24,042 for matching four main numbers plus the SuperStar. Visit the SuperEnalotto Results page for more information about the latest draw.

The good news for SuperEnalotto players is that there will still be a magnificent jackpot, €41.1 million, up for grabs in the next game on Saturday even though it has just been won. Tickets can be bought online from anywhere in the world or from authorised retailers across Italy, and hopes will be high that last night’s result will spark a run of big winners.
