SuperEnalotto Suspended Due To Coronavirus

SuperEnalotto Suspended Due To Coronavirus

SuperEnalotto and other Italian games have been suspended until further notice due to the coronavirus crisis. The decision was made by the Customs and Monopolies Agency to try and help contain the spread of Covid-19.

The announcement came through an official press release, signed by the Customs and Monopolies Agency’s director Marcello Minenna. It was confirmed that Saturday night’s draw, on 21st March, would be the final one before the suspension.

The €35 million jackpot was not won on Saturday night and there will not now be another chance to play for prizes until the game resumes. Other lottery draws such as Lotto, Simbolotto and SiVinceTutto have also been suspended.

Draws will not now carry on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as normal for SuperEnalotto, while the schedule for other games based in Italy has also been suspended.

Ticket sales are also unavailable until further notice. You cannot purchase entries from any store in Italy or online from the lottery operator Sisal.

Eurojackpot Draws Continue

The one lottery which will continue is Eurojackpot, as draws are held in Finland and there are 17 other participating countries along with Italy. Any decision about the future of this game will be taken jointly by the member nations.

Sisal is unable to offer even online entries for Euroajckpot as it has shut down its operations. While playing online does not involve any risk for players, the strict limits on movement in Italy prevent those working behind the scenes from effectively doing their jobs.

It had previously been announced that the period for claiming prizes had been suspended, so that winners do not need to come forward to pick up their money during the lockdown. You normally have only 90 days to claim prizes, but this deadline is now frozen until restrictions are lifted.

When Will SuperEnalotto Resume?

No date has been set for the resumption of SuperEnalotto draws or ticket sales within Italy. The Customs and Monopolies Agency will wait until the state of emergency is over before revealing when games will start up again.

However, it is just a temporary suspension and the games will become available again as soon as possible to give players the opportunity to win prizes.
