What Happens When You Win the SuperEnalotto Jackpot?

The SuperEnalotto jackpot is worth a staggering €118.6 million for the draw on Saturday 23rd March, but what happens in the days and weeks after you win? Everyone who plays SuperEnalotto dreams of collecting that gigantic top prize, so take a look at what is in store once you match all six main numbers.

Check Your SuperEnalotto Numbers

It sounds obvious, but you have to be certain your SuperEnalotto numbers match the winning line before you can start the celebrations. You cannot check them too carefully, so it is worth asking someone you trust with your good news to verify that what you see is correct.

In addition, SuperEnalotto.net provides a free Ticket Checker into which you can tap your numbers. Not only will it show you how your line performed in the most recent draw, you can find out the prizes those numbers won in all draws during the previous 90 days.

Certain you’re a winner? Then you can move on to the next step.

Sign Your Ticket and Put it Somewhere Safe

You have a slip of paper in your hand worth more than €100 million; you need to keep it as safe as possible. Signing the back of the ticket binds it to you and ensures that no one else can claim the prize, but you still need to guard it against loss or damage.

After a draw, the first opportunity to officially claim your prize is 9am the next working day, so find somewhere secure and memorable to keep the ticket. A safe is perfect, if you have one, but many lottery winners keep theirs in locations such as biscuit jars on high shelves.

If you choose your numbers online, you don’t need to worry about someone else stealing your ticket and claiming your prize. You cannot lose or damage an online ticket, and the website through which you play even emails you to tell you that you are due a prize - you don’t even have to remember to check your numbers!

Claim Your SuperEnalotto Prize

To officially claim your SuperEnalotto prize you need to present your ticket to Sisal, the lottery operator, within 90 days of the draw. They have offices in Rome and Milan, which are open from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday (not including public holidays). With a multimillion-Euro jackpot win, you are advised to call ahead, and you can find the phone numbers and location of the offices on the How to Claim page.

You will need to take official ID documents and details of your tax code, as well as the winning ticket. Sisal will then begin the process of validating the claim.

Receiving Your Prize

SuperEnalotto prizes are subject to 12% tax on amounts above €500. Sisal withholds this amount at source, so you don’t need to worry about filing it in a tax return.

Once the validation process is complete, and there are no contests to your claim, the prize is paid into your bank account 91 days after the winning draw. Just imagine; in just three months time, you could be the proud owner of a nine-figure SuperEnalotto bounty!
